Hello Saints!

 

Well, Judy and I have been very busy! Here are some highlights of the past two weeks.

 

On the Road Again:

Let me tell you about our visit to Jesus MCC and the Indiana Black Gay Pride Festival in Indianapolis, Indiana; it was no less than an amazing holy joy! Both Jesus MCC and Indiana Black Pride were our hosts. The festival was a five-day affair. It was at a very large city park. Rev. Tammy Mills, the Associate Pastor at Jesus MCC, lovingly greeted us at the fest.  I addressed the Saturday gathering and I sang. I felt so proud to be a part of the events. So proud to be a part of UFMCC!  Mr. Robert Ferguson gave birth to Indiana Black Pride.  He is also a Deacon at Jesus MCC and he attended the last UFMCC People of African Descent Conference.  The attendance was great. A host of groups, music, shows, support groups, and dancing, and food. It was a time of great healing. Indiana Black Gay Pride received the very first "Delores P. Berry Freedom Award" for Being a Bridge to Eradicate Racism and Sexuality Hatred, and for Creating a Healing Place for LGBT & Heterosexuals of African Descent and their Allies to Create and Embrace Freedom. 

 

Then came Sunday! Worship at Jesus MCC. Pastor Rev. Jeff Mine is a gifted, humble person.  It was a joy to see how he and Rev. Mills, the Associate Pastor, work together for the good. I sang and preached at the three Sunday services. No less the 700 people where at Church that day. Some 50 or more came for the very first time because of the Black Pride Gay Pride Fest.  Jesus MCC helped the festival happen. The Church hosted a Soul Food Pot Luck for the gathering. The last time we visited that Church it had about 50 people on a good day. This Church received the very first "Delores P. Berry Promoting Harmony Award" for, Mirroring the Life of Jesus to Promote Harmony in the Greater Communities.

 

Got home today from visiting Open Arms MCC in Rochester, NY. We were there for their 25th Anniversary. It was a Holy Spirit weekend! We had a wonderful time. I will tell you about the visit very soon.

 

We are resting for the next two weeks. Then we will be at our New Light MCC in Hagerstown, MD. Things just get better and better in MCC!
